Eminent Ayurveda acharya Dr P K Warrier passes away tragically

Malappuram: Renowned Ayurved acharya and Managing Trustee of Kottakkal Arya Vaidyashala (KAS) Dr P K Warrier passed away today. Family members have informed about his demise. Warrier was 100 years old. sources in the KAS said Warrier breathed his last on Saturday afternoon. In his lifetime of a century, he treated thousands of patients from all over the world and among those who treated him were former Presidents and former PM of India and other countries.

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, CM Pinarayi Vijayan and Assembly Speaker M B Rajesh have condoled the passing away of Warrier. The Governor said, "As a doctor, he was committed to the scientific discovery of Ayurveda. Warrier will always be remembered for his incomparable contribution to the modernization of Ayurveda. As a humanitarian, he had imagined a better health and a dignified life for all people in society."

CM Vijayan said warrier played an important role in bringing international fame to Ayurveda and it is because of his efforts that this field of medicine has been recognized internationally today. Kerala Health Minister Veena George said, "We have lost the father of Ayurveda." Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala also condoled the passing away of Warrier and said his name will always be remembered as a doctor who brings the greatness of Ayurveda to the world.
