Islamabad: Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam on Thursday set a record for most T20 centuries by any batsman from the country in T20Is. He scored his sixth T20 century against Northon while playing for Central Punjab in the National T20 Cup at Rawalpindi. Before him, Ahmed Shehzad and Kamran Akmal have scored 5-5 T20 centuries. Babar Azam has also surpassed Team India captain Virat Kohli. Virat has scored 5 centuries in 315 T20Is. Babar has scored 6 centuries in 194 matches.
With this, Babar Azam has joined Rohit Sharma and Shane Watson in the T20 century squad. Pakistan captain Babar Azam scored an unbeaten 105 off 63 balls with the help of 11 fours and 3 sixes. However, his team lost the match. As an Asian batsman, he has jointly moved up to the first position with Rohit Sharma in terms of the highest T20 centuries.
Babar Azam will be happy to be in this form before the T20 World Cup. India and Pakistan will take on Dubai in the T20 World Cup on October 24. Both the teams will begin their campaign in the T20 World Cup. India and Pakistan had earlier clashed in the ICC World Cup 2019. India had defeated Pakistan in it. Talking about the World Cup, Pakistan has not been able to beat India to date.
