Nowadays, the hectic life and bad lifestyle are having a bad effect on the heart. Due to lack of proper diet and lifestyle, the heart is getting weak, which has increased the risk of dangerous diseases like heart attack and stroke. Tests like ECG and Echo are usually done to know the health of the heart, but you can also know the health of your heart at home in some easy ways.

1. Climb 40 stairs every day

According to doctors, if you can climb 40 stairs in 1.5 minutes without getting breathless or tired, it means that your heart is healthy. If you have a problem of shortness of breath or increased heartbeat while climbing stairs, it may mean weakness or blockage in the heart.

2. Measure your waist size

According to a study in the Journal of the American Heart Association, heart health can be determined by waist size. For men, if the waist size is 37 inches or more, and for women, it is 31.5 inches or more, then it can be a sign of a weak heart. If the waist size of men is 40 inches and that of women is 35 inches or more, then there can be a serious risk to the heart. Obesity puts extra pressure on the heart and can cause blockage.

3. Count the pulse (pulse rate)

The pulse, also known as pulse rate, can also be used to determine the health of the heart. In normal conditions, the number of pulse beats should be 60 to 100 beats in a minute. The pulse of athletes can usually be 40-50 beats per minute. If the pulse is low and it causes problems like shortness of breath or dizziness, then it can be a matter of concern for heart health. With these easy methods, you can check your heart health at home. If any of these signs are seen, it would be advisable to consult a doctor.
