JERUSALEM: Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa has accepted Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's offer for a historic visit to Israel, Israeli media reported

Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani was quoted by the Hebrew-language Ynet news site as saying that the crown prince accepted the invitation and would visit Israel "soon." Bennett met with Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince al-Khalifa, various ministers, and representatives of the Bahraini Jewish community during his first visit to the Gulf state, as per reports

Bennett told reporters in Bahrain's capital, Manama, that he was looking for a "new regional architecture" involving moderate Arab and non-Arab governments in the area to combat "enemy fomenting disorder and terror." According to a joint statement released after Bennett's visit, the sessions led to "strengthening relations between both states and their governments."

According to the statement, the leaders were particularly concerned about regional "nuclear challenges, terrorist activity, religious extremism, poverty, and socioeconomic issues."They also talked about social, economic, business, and trade cooperation between the two countries, with an emphasis on moving forward with the talks on reciprocal investment and tax treatment.
