Mumbai: The Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, who once ruled all over Maharashtra, need no introduction. Today, on the occasion of his death anniversary, we have brought for you, 5 untouched aspects related to his life, which you might not know.

1 -Cartoonist Bal Thackeray used to publish his organization Shivna's mouthpiece 'Saamana' in Marathi, which is still being published. Bal Thackeray and famous cartoonist RK Laxman worked together, both used to work together in the Free Press Journal in the year 1947, both of them used to meet even after getting into politics.

2 - Bal Thackeray has a very close relationship with the film world, when actor Sanjay Dutt was in trouble during TADA, Bal Thackeray gave him all possible help. Famous actor Dilip Kumar i.e. Yusuf Khan and Bal Thackeray once had a deep friendship. Thackeray himself said in an interview that "Dilip Sahab used to have an evening meeting with me, but later did not know what happened that he went away from me."

3 - In the year 1996, when pop star Michael Jackson came to India, he was severely opposed in many places in the country. During that time, the artistic Bal Thackeray came out in support of Michael Jackson and pacified the opponents.

4 - Bal Thackeray's father Keshav Thackeray was a social worker. He started a joint Maharashtra campaign in 1950 and kept trying to make Bombay (Mumbai) the capital of India. Mumbai may not have become the capital of the country due to their efforts, but the financial capital of the country has definitely become.

Balasaheb Thackeray died on 5 -17 November 2012. He was cremated at Shivaji Park. In Maharashtra, people know Bala Saheb as the 'Tiger of Maratha'. He was the first person on which people have called for Mumbai Band without any notice.
