The ICC found Captain Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft guilty of ball tempering during the Test match between  South Africa and Australia in Cape Town . The ICC also imposed a fine of 100% match fee on Smith with a test banner. Bancroft has been fined 75 percent of the match fee. Also, Benchoft's share has reached three DeMarit points. In the third test match against South Africa, Australian player Bencroft tampered the ball with the help of yellow tape. This thing was later acknowledged by Australian captain Smith and said that it was the team's plan and included the team's Leadership Group.

After this move, Cricket Australia (CA) removed Smith and David Warner as the captain and vice-captain respectively for the remaining two days of the third Test match. Tim Paine captained the team in place of Smith. A South African cameraman brought this whole issue to the front. This cameraman is being discussed well on social media. The name of this cameraman is Oscar, Who handled the camera during the match . On the social media, he is very much appreciated as due to him  ball-tempering issue exposed.

Team India's former opener Virender Sehwag also tweeted and praised about this terrific cameraman. Sehwag said, "Look carefully at this person, Oscar-The cameraman, it's not hard to avoid his camera." After this incident, Steve Smith has been removed from the captaincy of Rajasthan Royals in IPL2018.
