Dhaka: Due to hatred towards Hindus in Bangladesh, incidents of attacks on them and their places of worship are increasing continuously. On Friday (October 7), Islamic fundamentalists once again attacked a Kali temple and vandalized the statues. The piece of the idol was thrown half a kilometre away. A British-period Kali temple is located in Dautiya village in the Zhenaidah district of Bangladesh. On Friday, Islamic fundamentalists entered the temple, broke the head of the idol, took it away and threw it on the road about half a kilometre away. No one has been arrested so far in this case. At the same time, the police say that they are investigating the matter.

The head of the temple committee, Sukumar Kunda, has told that worship has been going on in this temple since the British era. At the same time, for a few days, the attack on temples increased, yet no arrangement for security was made in this temple. Kunda said the attackers at 3-4 am entered the temple and vandalized the idols without any fear as there was no security arrangement. He said that no one was hurt in the attack. The attack has been reported to the police. Chandnath Poddar, chief secretary of Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council and professor at Dhaka University, has said that the incident happened within 24 hours of the end of the 10-day Durga Puja in Bangladesh. Jhenaidah ASP Amit Kumar Burman has told that an FIR has been registered in this case and investigation has been started. A search operation is going on against unknown people.

Let us tell you that during Durga Puja last year too, a mob of Islamic fundamentalists attacked a Hindu temple in Chandpur district and vandalized the idols. Along with this, 3 Hindus were shot and killed. After this attack, Bangladesh Hindu Unity Council demanded PM Sheikh Hasina to provide security to the minority community. Attacks on Hindus are common in Muslim-majority Bangladesh. Not only this, cases of kidnapping and rape of minor Hindu girls also keep coming from there. Due to continuous persecution, the number of Hindus in Bangladesh is decreasing. The number of Hindus is about 10 per cent of the total population of 169 million there and this number is continuously decreasing. But, no human rights or peace organization is ready to raise its voice for the suffering minorities of Bangladesh, even as Twitter itself deletes handles showing the suffering of Bangladeshi Hindus on Twitter.
