J&K: Miscreants attacked Temple and broke idols

Srinagar: In Jammu and Kashmir, miscreants have once again targeted the faith of Kashmiri Pandits. In fact, last Saturday, the temple of Barghshikha Bhavani was attacked here in Anantnag. Not only that, the temple has been ransacked. Police recently confirmed that a case has been registered. The SIT has been constituted for investigation. Tell all of you that the temple of Barghshikha Bhavani is on Mattan Mountain in the Anantnag district of Kashmir Valley. It is the centre of faith of Kashmiri Pandits. The Barghshikha temple has been attacked when the government is trying to return pandits to the Valley.

 

Recently, Jammu and Kashmir Police confirmed the incident and said, "Reliable sources informed that Barghshikha Bhavani temple on Mattan mountain has been desecrated by some miscreants. A case has been registered and an SIT has been constituted for investigation. As soon as the incident was reported, senior police and administration officials rushed to the spot and started investigating.'' On the other hand, Anantnag DCP Piyush Singla said, "The culprits will be punished and no one will be allowed to disturb social harmony. Such an act will not be tolerated and the culprits will be punished under relevant sections of the law.''

On the other hand, National Conference leader and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the incident and tweeted, "Unacceptable. I strongly condemn this sabotage and appeal to the administration, especially the Jammu and Kashmir Police, to identify the culprits and give strict punishment.''
