The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday invited companies to bid for the title sponsorship of the Indian Premier League's 13th edition, just hours after the Indian government gave the green signal for the tournament to be held in the United Arab Emirates next month.

The IPL will be held in the UAE from September 19 to November 10 in three cities -- Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. IPL chairman Brijesh Patel on Monday expressed confidence that a lot of companies are interested in becoming IPL sponsors. "It is not a setback (Vivo pulling out), there is already a lot of interest (for title rights). Whether an Indian company or from anywhere else, whoever bids the most gets the rights. We will finalize the whole process by August 18," Patel said.
Patanjali may sponsor IPL this year in place of VIVO
IPL 2020 lost VIVO as its title sponsors earlier this month amid the rising tensions between India and China at the Line of Actual Control. It was a Rs 440 crore deal and as BCCI looks at potential sponsors, Baba Ramdev's Patanjali has shown interest in becoming the new title sponsor. Companies with a turnover of over Rs 300 crores will be allowed to bid for title sponsorship of IPL 2020, Jay Shah stated in BCCI's press release.
