New Delhi: The Performance of the Indian cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2022 was somewhat disappointing and they had to face defeat by England in the semi-finals. After this defeat, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) seems to be in action mode. A few days ago, the BCCI sacked the national selection committee led by Chetan Sharma. Now the BCCI has come up with another big decision.

According to media reports, BCCI is not going to renew the contract of mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton. That is, Upton will not go with Team India on the tour of Bangladesh. With the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, Paddy Upton's contract also ended. Paddy Upton, who hails from South Africa, is considered to be a favorite of Team India head coach Rahul Dravid and it was on Dravid's advice that he was made mental conditioning coach. Upton, 53, joined the Indian contingent through the BCCI tour of the West Indies in July this year.

During the T20 World Cup 2022, legendary Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar expressed his displeasure towards Paddy Upton. When KL Rahul failed in the semi-final match against England, after which the Little Master advised Paddy Upton that he should work with Rahul. Upton was kept to help relieve the pressure on the players, in which he was successful to some extent. For instance, Upton's advice was convenient for Virat Kohli and he managed to get back to form.
