Brussels: A police officer was stabbed to death outside the railway station in the Belgian capital Brussels. This incident is being told on Thursday (November 10) evening. According to the report, the 29-year-old assailant stabbed the policeman while chanting 'Allahu Akbar'. The police fired at the assailant to control him, injuring him. The attacker has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Let us tell you that this is the second such attack in Brussels within a week.
According to the information, the Brussels-North Zone police were patrolling the Rue d'Aerschot in Schaerbeek, Brussels. Meanwhile, at around 7:15 pm on Thursday (November 10), a man attacked the patrolling police officer with a knife while raising the slogan of Allahu Akbar. The accused slashed the policeman's neck with a knife, due to which the policeman died on the spot. The Public Prosecutor's Office has started an investigation into the matter.
According to the report, the Belgian police are linking the incident to terrorism. The newspaper Le Soir quoted Belgian police as saying, 'Before the attack, both police officers were on patrol. After the attack, another patrol party also reached the spot and fired at the attacker. The attacker has been shot in the leg and stomach. At the same time, Belgian PM Alexander De Croo has expressed grief over this attack. He tweeted, 'Our policemen risk their lives daily for the safety of the citizens of the country. One police officer lost his life and another got injured in today's attack.' He further said, 'My deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased officer. Hope the policeman admitted to the hospital will get well soon.'
