Kolkata: There has been a stir for the elections in West Bengal for the last few days. In Phoolbagan, Bengal, five people have been arrested in a case of sabotage in BJP's chariot. All these people are said to be associated with TMC. The BJP had alleged that TMC workers had vandalized their vehicles and LED TVs installed in them. After this, the BJP complained to the Election Commission in this case.


Bengal BJP in-charge of Kailash Vijayvargiya tweeted a video of the incident, writing, "Today the Election Commission announced the Bengal election date and Trinamool Congress goons entered the Kadapara (Kolkata) Godown of BJP at 11 am without fear. He took the LEDs and broke the raths." The Election Commission had announced the date of assembly elections in five states on this day of violence.

Also, elections will be held in 8 phases on 294 seats in Bengal. The intention behind conducting elections in 8 phases is to ban cases of violence due to the electoral process. But in the ongoing tussle between BJP and TMC, such cases are coming up again and again. On March 27, in 30 assembly seats of five cities of the state under West Bengal in the first phase on March 27, April 30 on 30 assembly seats in four cities under the second phase, April 6 on 31 assembly seats under the third phase, five under the fourth phase April 10 on 44 seats of cities, April 17 on 45 seats of six cities under the fifth phase, April 22 in 43 seats of four cities under the sixth phase, April 26 in the 36 seats of the five cities under the seventh phase and the eighth phase. Under 35 seats in four cities will be voted on 29 April.
