Bengaluru: In connection with the mob violence in the city last week, 1 personal assistant of former Congress Mayor R. Sampat Raj has been arrested. Police have given this information on Wednesday. Police sources have told in this regard that the mob was allegedly instigated by personal assistant Arun Kumar against sitting MLA Akhand Srinivas Murthy and his sister.

In this case, he further said that during the incident on August 11, Murthy and his sister were mainly targeted in the sabotage. Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said, "We have arrested Arun Kumar. DJ Halli and KG Halli police stations were burnt by a mob protesting against the social media posts of a close relative of the MLA".

They also badly damaged Jayanti's residence. On Tuesday, the police questioned Sampat Raj and Councilor of Pulakeshinagar ward Abdul Rakib Zakir in this regard. Police have arrested nearly three hundred people so far in connection with the violence. During this accident, 4 people died, out of which 3 died in police firing. About fifty policemen were also injured in the violence.
