Pune: A motorcyclist died after his throat was slit by a Chinese Manjha in Daund town of Pune district, police said on Sunday. It is being told that a man was flying a kite, whose Manjha was stuck in the neck of the biker. He was seriously injured. He died during treatment at the hospital. The deceased is said to be a resident of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.
The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Pannalal Yadav, a resident of Gorakhpur, UP. It is being told that the deceased used to work as a flooring supplier. He was going to work on a Pannalal motorcycle on Saturday afternoon. At the same time, a man was flying a kite with a Chinese Manjhe at Nagar Mori Chowk in Daund. This Chinese Manjha got entangled in Pannalal Yadav's throat and it cut his throat. In a hurry, Pannalal was taken to the sub-district hospital for treatment.
Doctors at the hospital said that Pannalal's breathing tube was cut due to Manjha. Medical Superintendent in charge of Daund Sub District Hospital Dr. Dattatreya Waghmode, Dr. Lad, and Dr. Barte treated Pannalal, but he could not be saved.
This sharp-edged Manjha, which snatches the breath of many people, is being sold indiscriminately even after the ban. It is very strong as compared to cotton thread and its demand is also very high. Normal Manjha is less dangerous than this metal-coated Manjha, but it is not in demand. The reason is that plastic or nylon is used to make Chinese Manjha.
