India's star shuttler and two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu has suffered a defeat in the German Open Cup 300 badminton tournament. At the same time, London Olympics bronze medalist Saina Nehwal has also suffered a defeat. Among the men, World Championships silver medal winner Kidambi Srikanth has made it to the quarterfinals.
