Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) have announced to partner to promote athletics in India. The partnership between Reliance Foundation and AFI is years old. With Reliance becoming the major sponsor, the partnership between the two organisations is going to deepen further.
The main features of the partnership are:-
- The partnership aims to explore, nurture and develop Indian athletes from across the country and provide them with world-class facilities, coaching and sports science and medical support. For which the Reliance Foundation eco-system is going to be leveraged. It also includes Orissa Reliance Foundation Athletics High-Performance Centre and HN Reliance Foundation Hospital.
- In line with the organisation's vision, special attention is also going to be paid to women athletes in this partnership. The aim will be to bridge the gender divide and realise the dreams of women athletes.
- In major national, and international competitions and training camps, as the major sponsor of the AFI, the Reliance brand is going to be seen on the national team jersey and training kit.
