No shortage of jabs in Puducherry, says L-G Tamilisai

Puducherry: Tamilsai Sundararajan, lieutenant governor (LG) of the Union Territory of Puducherry, said on Friday that there is no shortage of vaccine storage to give vaccine doses to people in Puducherry. After handing over the medical equipment to the health department, she told the press at Raj Niwas that Puducherry had vaccine storage as per requirement in many parts when people were reporting difficulties in getting vaccine doses.

She further said that PM Narendra Modi has promised that the vaccine will be supplied further to other states and Union Territories including Puducherry from June 21. She said there is no dearth of medicine and appeals to people to come forward and get the vaccine done. The special vaccination festival has been going on in the Union Territory from June 16.

She further said that the 'Health Department on a war footing' is ready to deal with the third wave of Covid-19." Tamilsai Sundararajan has said that she wants to ensure that necessary health facilities are available if children are infected. She said that if the needs of children are different from adults, special beds are being prepared in hospitals for children.
