Patna: Cases of negligence in mid-day meal are continuously coming to light in Bihar. On Saturday (May 27), khichdi was distributed by the NGO in the Utkrit Sah Middle School of Amona village under Jogbani police station area of Farbisganj, in which the snake was found ripe. After eating this food, the health of about 70 children deteriorated. Two days later, a lizard was found dead in the mid-day meal at Thuthi School in Chhatapur, Supaul. After this, seven dozen sick children had to be admitted to the hospital.

There was a stir in the middle school Thuthi School under Chhatapur block of Supaul district bordering Narpatganj block when  the children were fed food with dead lizards. Seeing the health of more than 100 children deteriorating after eating food, the family members of all the children admitted all the children to Narpatganj Primary Health Center for treatment. There was chaos in the hospital after a large number of children reached the hospital.  

All the children who had eaten were treated after health examination. The condition of five of them is said to be critical. The deceased have been identified as Soni Kumar (12), son Ramesh Sukiyar (12), Chhotu Kumar Bhagat (13), Raju Bhagat (13), Chandni Kumari (13), Anshu Kumari (6) and Anjali Kumari (  5).
