Patna: The highest rainfall in many states has created panic and normal life is disrupted due to rain in Bihar. In Samastipur district, many rivers have risen above the danger mark. Meanwhile, the cemetery and mosque along Shamsan Ghat have all been submerged due to flood water in the Burhi Gandaki river adjoining the city. This has led to difficulty in cremating the bodies and burying the public. For centuries, people performed funerals at their traditional places.

They used to bury the people near the tombs of their forefathers, they now have to resort to the Shamsan Ghats and cemeteries in other places due to the flood water. There is a cemetery of the Muslim community next door at one place within the embankment at Ward No. Nature has caused problems to the people of Samastipur on the one hand where rainwater is water logging.

On the other hand, floods have also started wreaking havoc. This time the Burhi Gandaki river has broken all records of floods in 1987 and 2007. Due to this, the city is also facing a flood crisis. In Samastipur, several areas of the city have been submerged in rainwater due to rainwater for the past several days. People in the city are now forced to resort to chachari bridge or thermocol boat to leave their homes. The people of Pur are forced to suffer.
