Bihar: Flood water entered police station, boat is being used for police patrolling

Muzaffarpur: Flood continues in 12 districts in Bihar. Even though the state government is carrying out relief work, the problem of the people has not subsided. In Muzaffarpur district, other rivers including Burdhi Gandak are in spate, causing flood in low lying areas. The premises of Adarsh Thana Bhawan in Ahiapur have also been submerged. Police personnel at Ahiapur police station have to use the boat for movement and patrolling.

Naren Kumar, in-charge of Ahiapur police station, told the press on Tuesday that the general public along with police officials are also resorting to the boat, which is causing a lot of problems to the common people coming to the police station. He said, "Work cannot be stopped because of flooding. Flooding is causing a lot of problems due to the sinking of the police station premises. The general public is also facing difficulties in coming here.

A boat has been provided by the district administration to the policemen who are coming to the police station," he said, adding that people have left their homes and taken shelter at higher places in the flood affected areas. Policemen have to resort to boats to patrol.
