Patna: In Bihar, transgenders will also be reinstated in the police. On the issue of reservation of eunuchs in police resumption in Patna High Court, action report was presented by Additional Chief Secretary Aamir Dahtani on behalf of the state government. A bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Karol heard Veera Yadav's PIL. Aamir Shantani said that the percentage of transgenders in the total population of the state is 0.039. On the basis of the same population, the state government has fixed the quota.

According to this quota, now the posts of one officer and 4 posts constable in each district will be reserved for transgenders. The court amended the order dated December 14, 2020, in which the court stayed the final result of the police reinstatement. That means now the process of police restoration will begin. Aamir Shantani told that if their population is more, then they will also be formed as squads and platoon.

The bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice S Kumar executed the PIL filed by Veera Yadav regarding the eunuchs. Petitioner Veera Yadav said that transgenders are not getting social justice. Those who are educated and skilled in all work are not getting reservation in the police. State government lawyer Ajay told the court that a special unit has been formed for eunuchs in the police department so that social anomalies can be removed. In the near future, they will be given other types of facilities.
