Ruckus In Munger Ahead Of First Phase Voting; 1 Killed, Several Injured

Munger: During the immersion of the idol of Durga in Bihar's Munger district, a youth has been killed and more than six people are said to be injured in a clash between police and security forces. The injured are being treated at Sadar Hospital. It is being told that the police resorted to lathi-charge during the immersion of Badi Durga at Shadipur in the midnight of Monday. The crowd became violent and clashed with police.

While defending, the police also opened fire, in which a young man died on the spot. Many people have been injured by the bullet. They are being treated at Sadar Hospital. However, the District Magistrate Rajesh Meena and SP Lipi Singh released two separate video clips clarifying the incident. Superintendent of Police Lipi Singh said that during the immersion, anti-social elements pelted stones at the police. Around 20 security forces personnel were injured in the incident, a SHO level officer suffered head injury.

After the stone pelting, anti-social elements also opened fire in which a youth was killed, the Superintendent of Police said. District Magistrate Rajesh Meena said that the situation is completely under control and he has requested not to pay attention to the rumours. Told that all the idols have been immersed.
