Patna: Almost 4 years have passed since the prohibition of liquor was implemented in Bihar, but with this prohibition, the process of smuggling of illegal liquor in Bihar continues. Now that the assembly elections have been announced in Bihar, the smuggling of liquor from other states in Bihar is once again gaining momentum.

Police seized a huge consignment of illegal English liquor worth Rs 40 lakh on the Uttar Pradesh-Bihar border in Chandauli in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Police has also arrested two men in this connection. The SWAT team of Chandauli district and the police of Syedraja police station had received information that the consignment of liquor from the Naubatpur border of Syedaraja Kotwali area was going towards Bihar.

On the basis of this information, the SWAT team and the police of Syedraja police station laid their nets on the Naubatpur border and started searching thevehicles. During this time, a DCM truck was caught by the police which was filled with liquor on a large scale. To manipulate the police, the liquor smugglers placed egg-packed cardboard on these boxes of liquor. DCM had more than four hundred boxes of liquor, in which 10 thousand 428 bottles of liquor were kept.
