India's first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat is scheduled to be cremated today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had reached Palam airbase the day before and paid homage to CDS, his wife and 11 soldiers. You must be aware that this week, 13 people died when an Army helicopter crashed at Coonoor in the Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu.

Apart from CDS, his wife and 11 soldiers were present. Group Captain Varun Singh, the lone survivor of the accident, is undergoing treatment at an Army hospital and his condition remains critical. On the other hand, on the passing away of CDS Bipin Rawat, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Rawat said, "This is a great loss for the entire country. We are all very sad. He always worked for the army. Whether it is the case of China or Pakistan, we have always stood firm on every front. He was also very fond of his birthplace. Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has paid tributes to CDS General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat.

Besides her, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav paid homage to CDS General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat. Union Minister Smriti Irani paid homage to CDS General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat. People will come to attend the funeral and therefore, elaborate security arrangements have been made on the way near Brar Square. Today, at the funeral of CDS, 17 gun salutes will be given and 800 soldiers will also salute.
