Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao turns 67 today.  K. Chandrashekhar Rao was born on 17-02-1954 in Hyderabad in the state of Telangana, India. He is an Indian Legislator, Politician & 1st and current Chief Minister of Telangana.

K Chandrasekhar Rao is a politician from Telangana, a member of the Telangana state movement and Telangana state committee.

He is the president of Telangana Rashtra Samithi, represented the Lok Sabha constituency of Karimnagar in Andhra Pradesh in the 14th Lok Sabha. He won from Mahabubnagar constituency in the 15th Lok Sabha He did his primary education from Andhra Pradesh and he got a master's degree in Telugu literature from the Osmania University of Hyderabad.

Chandrasekhar initiated politics during his college and university studies in 1970. Before playing an active role in politics, he was an employment consultant and sent workers to Gulf countries.

In 1985, he was involved Telugu Desam Party and was elected MLA. He was Minister of State in Andhra Pradesh from 1987 - 1988. From 1987-88, he was the Minister of State in Andhra Pradesh. He was the President of Public Undertaking Committee from 1992-93. From 1997-99, he was the Union Minister. From 1999 to 2001, he was the Vice-President of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.  

Prior to the formation of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, he was a member of the Telugu Desam Party. Demanding the creation of a separate Telangana state, he left the Telugu Desam Party.

On Apr 2001, he resigned from the Telugu Desam Party and resigned as Deputy Speaker, and in the same year, Telangana Rashtra Samithi set up a separate Telangana state slogan.

In 2006, he resigned from the membership of the Parliament and then was elected an MP from an overwhelming majority. In 2008, he resigned again with his three MPs and 16 MLAs and was elected MP for the second time. He was sworn in as Chief Minister of Telangana on Jun 2014.

Rao was re-elected as Telangana CM in 2018. The leader has been praised globally for his policies aimed towards uplifting the less fortunate. He won the Agricultural Leadership Award in 2017.
