BJP breached Gehlot's fort as 2 cross-vote for Murmu

JAIPUR In the presidential race, the Bharatiya Janata Party has managed to breach the fort of Assam Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot as 2 Congress MLAs cross-voted for NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu. The names of the MLAs have not been disclosed as yet, but suspisions are being raised about an independent and an ally.

According to reports, MLA Shobharani Kushwaha, who was dismissed from the BJP for supporting the Congress candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections, voted for Yashwant Sinha of the UPA. 75 MLAs from Rajasthan voted for Droupadi Murmu, who won the presidential election, while Yashwant Sinha received 123 votes.

Rajkumar Roth of the BTP and Bhanwarlal Sharma of the Congress did not cast a ballot. Out of 200 MLAs, 198 cast ballots in the poll. Following the expulsion of Shobharani, the BJP and RLP each received 73 votes, but Murmu received 75.

The expulsion of Dholpur MLA Shobharani resulted in the BJP losing one of its 71 MLAs. he BJP's ally, Hanuman Beniwal's RLP, has 3 MLAs. The BJP camp received 73 votes in total, but Murmu received 75 votes, meaning that the two additional votes came from the Congress camp.

The Congress party calculated that Yashwant Sinha, the UPA candidate, should have received 125 votes but only received 123.
