BJP MLA claim to form govt in Karnataka next week, says 15 Congress-JD(S) MLAs in touch with him

Bengaluru: A vetern BJP MLA claimed that 15 angry MLAs from the ruling Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) coalition government were ready to cross over with saffron party in Karnataka politics . Umesh Katti stated on Wednesday that 15 ruling coalition legislators were in contact with him. He also added that the BJP would welcome them if they make a decision to join it.

Katti is an eight-time legislator. He also said the state would get a Bharatiya Janata Party government by next week.  After this claims, Karnataka Congress Committee president Dinesh Gundu Rao stated the BJP MLA was giving "illusionary statements" to cause mystification among people.

These remarks have come in the lieu of some MLAs, who were hoping to become ministers in the recent Cabinet restructure, displaying their displeasure in public. Well-known among them is senior MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi, who was out from the HD Kumaraswamy government. He has talked about resigning . He said he would make his next course of action clear by the end of this week.

However, CM Kumaraswamy and other senior Congress leaders and ministers have  rejected that resignations were due, while saying the stability of six-month-old government.

Katti  was quoted by reporters in Belagavi, as saying "Fifteen MLAs are in touch with me, I cannot divulge their names now, when the time comes I will tell. We will welcome those who are pained in Congress and JD(S) and want to join our party. If they come, we will induct them into our party and form the government.”

Worth mention here BJP state chief BS Yeddyurappa also rejected that his party was in touch with dissatisfied Congress-JD(S) MLAs.
