Patna: Bihar RJD President Jagdanand Singh on Sunday slammed the NDA over government formation. In a shocking remark, the RJD state president said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) raped the people's mandate in Bihar. Singh’s comments come amid the opposition Grand Alliance decided to boycott the oath-taking ceremony of Nitish Kumar. He claimed the mandate in the elections was "against the NDA" which has been changed by a "fraud".

Jagdanand attacked Nitish Kumar saying: "Earlier he used to become CM by betrayal, this time he cannot be called CM...Nitish Kumar is born out of the rape and robbery of people's mandate by BJP." The RJD alleged in a tweet "The RJD boycotts oath-taking ceremony of this puppet government. The mandate is for a change, and against the (ruling) NDA. The people's verdict has been changed by the ruler's order."  "Ask the unemployed, the farmer, the contract worker, and teacher as to what they are going through. People are angry with NDA's fraud. We are public representatives and we stand with people," it said.

Nitish Kumar is scheduled to take oath as chief minister for the seventh time in Raj Bhavan this evening. RJD's Tejashwi Yadav-led Mahagathbandhan won 110 seats, 12 less than the magic figure of 122 in the 243-member Bihar Assembly. The NDA won 125 seats. The RJD finished as the single-largest party with 75 seats, while the Congress won a mere 19 seats. Of the 29 seats, the Left parties had contested won 16 seats with the CPI (ML-Liberation) winning 12 of them.
