BJP wants double engine govt in Bengal, fooling common man: Abhishek Banerjee

Nagarakta: Senior Trinamool Congress leader and MP Abhishek Banerjee has once again targeted the BJP. He has been taunted by the BJP's slogan of a double-engined government (a single-party government at the Center and in the state). On Saturday, he criticized the slogan, "The saffron party wants this system to grab public money." Not only this but Abhishek Banerjee, President of Trinamool's youth wing and MP from Diamond Harbour seat, also says, 'The slogan also proved that the BJP-led government at the Centre has not been helping West Bengal as the party is not in power in the state, claimed Banerjee, also the president of the Trinamool Congress youth wing.'

The saffron party leaders are dwelling on the "double engine government" saying it will stimulate the growth and development in West Bengal where the assembly election is likely to be held in April-May. BJP is trying to bribe voters by promising them money under the PM Kisan Scheme, the Diamond Harbour MP. Addressing the rally he also said  "The BJP is saying that they want a double engine government in the state. Why do they want a double-engine government in the state? So that they can siphon off public money and go scot-free," at Nagrakata in North Bengals Jalpaiguri district.

Apart from this, he also said in his address, 'He (BJP) did nothing for Bengal, because there is no double engine government here. This is the character of the BJP government. They do nothing for non-BJP ruled states. BJP had promised to give Rs 15 lakh to every citizen in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, but people have not received a single penny in the last seven years. Now they are trying to bribe the people of the state, saying that if they come to power, they will be given 18-18 thousand rupees. This is another attempt to fool the common man.'
