Nagaland: As per early counting trends in the Northeast state released by the Election Commission at 9.50 am, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were in the lead in 14 Assembly constituencies.
On February 27, voting took place in the state's 60 Assembly districts.
As per the latest trends shared by the poll panel, the BJP was leading in 3 constituencies while the NDPP, led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, had taken the lead in 11 of them.
The NDPP was in the lead in the constituencies of Chazouba, Chizami, Dimapur-II, Meluri, Noksen, Northern Angami-I, Northern Angami-II, Shamator Chessore, Tuensang Sadar-II, and Western Angami, while the BJP was ahead in Tuensang Sadar-I, Dimapur-I, and Seyochung Sitimi.
The Northern Angami-II constituency's NDPP candidate, CM Rio, was in the lead with 3,709 seats.
Further leading in one constituency each were the Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), National People's Party, Nationalist Congress Party, and Republican Party of India (Athawale).
Following Kazheto Kinimi's uncontested victory from the Akuluto seat, the BJP has already formed an account in the Northeast state. This came about because Khekashe Sumi, the Congress candidate, withdrew.
There were 183 contestants left when Sumi withdrew her application.
Polling for the Nagaland was held on February 27.
