Islamabad: One person died in a blast in Lahore city of Pakistan late Saturday, 5 people have been injured in this blast. According to media reports, the blast took place in the township market area of Lahore. Initial police investigations have revealed the explosion at an electronics shop.

It is being told that the blast occurred while filling gas in a refrigerator. The young man killed in the accident has been identified as a technician repairing the refrigerator. The deceased is said to be 22 years old Hafiz Mahmud. The entire area has been evacuated by security forces and bomb disposal squad has reached the spot. Senior officials are investigating the cause of the blast.

A spokesman for Pakistan's Anti-Terrorism Department said that according to local time, the blast occurred in a refrigerator workshop at 7.50 pm. Releasing the statement, the spokesperson of the Anti-Terrorism Department said, "Initial investigation seems to have caused a blast in the refrigerator compressor. Pieces of the compressor have been recovered from the spot. No clue of any type of explosive has been found so far, investigation is going on at present.
