Assam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Bodo Accord on Thursday, saying it had brought Assam "long-lasting peace." The Bodo Accord 2020, signed by the Centre, the Assam government, and the Bodo group, is a tripartite agreement.

"Several Karbi Anglong organisations joined the resolution for peace and prosperity last year. In 2020, the Bodo Accord opened new doors for long-term peace "PM Modi made the remarks today in Assam. The PM also praised the two-engine government for the growth of the northeastern districts, noting that visitors are proud of the region. "When someone travels to the northeast today and sees the region's fast development, they are also proud. We have a good understanding of the region's issues "Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.

In many sections of the northeast region, the scope of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) has been limited, according to the Prime Minister. "We have withdrawn AFSPA from many areas of the North East over the previous eight years for permanent peace and a better law and order situation," he said. He further stated that a solution to border-related concerns like as Assam and Meghalaya is now being worked out.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma heaped gratitude on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for signing the Karbi Accord, saying, "The Karbi believe that hard work is their dharma. Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, the Karbi Accord was signed, establishing peace and ensuring rapid prosperity in the region."

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for a veterinary college in Diphu, a Degree College in West Karbi Anglong, and an agricultural college in Kolonga, among other educational, healthcare, and development projects.
