The Bombay High Court has ruled in favor of Rhea Chakraborty, overturning the Look Out Circulars (LOCs) issued against her, her brother, and father by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding the investigation into actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Manjusha Deshpande accepted the petitions filed by Rhea, her brother Showik, and their father Indrajit against the 2020 LOCs.

During the hearing, CBI's advocate Shreeram Shirsat asked the court to postpone the implementation of its decision for four weeks to allow the agency to appeal to the Supreme Court. However, the High Court declined to grant a stay.

Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14, 2020. Initially, Mumbai police treated it as an accidental death and began an investigation. Later, Rajput's father filed a complaint with Bihar police, accusing Rhea Chakraborty and her family of abetting his suicide.

The case was subsequently taken over by the CBI, which has been investigating since. The LOCs against Rhea, her brother, and father were issued in August 2020.

Last year, the High Court temporarily lifted the LOC against Showik, allowing him to travel abroad.

In 2020, both Rhea and Showik were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection to a drugs case related to Rajput. They were later released on bail.
