Nagpur: It would be a crime to write 'I love you' or throw a love letter on the body of a married woman, or to throw it by writing a poem or Shayari. The verdict was pronounced by the Nagpur bench of the high court. In fact, if someone does that, there will be a case of molestation or sexual harassment. The entire case is from the Akola district of Maharashtra. The Nagpur bench of the high court pronounced the verdict while hearing a 2011 incident here. The case is registered against the accused who misbehaved with a 45-year-old woman. The accused is 54 years old and also threatened the woman.

You must be aware that a case under Section 354 is registered against the accused in the case of molestation or harassment of women. On the other hand, conviction attracts a two-year jail term or fine, or both. The Nagpur bench heard the 2011 incident in the Akola district. A 54-year-old man was accused of harassing and threatening a 45-year-old woman in the case and the victim is married and has a son. The accused had reportedly given a love letter to the victim and the victim refused to take the love letter. In fact, after being rejected by the married woman, the accused threw the letter on her body and called her I love you. At the same time, he threatened not to say this to anyone. In the entire case, the court made it clear that throwing a poem or a Shayari letter expressing love on the body of a married woman is sexual harassment and molestation.

What the court said - The civil line police of Akola had earlier filed a case against the accused in the case. First Class Magistrate's Court sentences the accused to 2 years imprisonment and a fine of 10,000 rupees. The decision was challenged by the accused in the high court and now the high court also convicted the accused. The Hon'ble Court said, "The honor of a woman is her greatest jewel. There is no clear explanation as to when a woman's honor has been disturbed or harassed. It depends on the circumstances. But throwing a letter with a poem expressing love on the body of a 45-year-old married woman is a case of sexual harassment and molestation.''
