Today is the death anniversary of the former President of India V.V. He was the fourth President of the country. V.V. Giri's full name was Varahagiri Venkatagiri. He worked promptly for the welfare of the workers. Participated in labor movements. He also had strong participation in national movements. The post of President is the highest constitutional office of India. Varahagiri Venkatagiri was born in a village under Brahmapur in the Ganjam district of Odisha. His father's name was V.V. Jogia was Pantulu.

He was a successful lawyer and a well-known political activist. V.V. Giri's mother also played a key role in the non-cooperation movement. Venkatagiri early education was in Behrampur. In 1913, he went to Ireland and joined a college to pursue a law education. In 1916, he participated in a movement in Ireland that focused on labor rights. He was expelled from the college for being active in the movement. After returning to India, V.V. Giri became active in organizations with workers. He participated in several labor movements. He was elected general secretary of the organization from labor. By 1922, V.V. Working in the interest of Giri workers, N.M. He became a trusted ally of Joshi.

He associated himself with working organizations for the good of the working class. Due to his commitment and hard work for the trade union movement, he was elected president of the All India Railway Men's Federation. Between 1937-39 and 1946-47, he was minister of the Departments of Labour, Industry, Cooperation, and Commerce in the Government of Madras. After that, he also went to jail during the Quit India Movement. Elections were held in the country after president Zakir Hussain's tenure. V V Giri had contested independent elections for the presidency. He also won the election and thus became the fourth President of India.

He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian honor, for his outstanding contribution to the upliftment of the workers and the country's freedom struggle. At the age of 85, on June 24, 1980, V.V. Giri passed away in Madras. He was also a good writer and speaker. He also wrote a book on Indian industry and industrial problems. The Indian Postal Department had also issued a ticket in his honor. President V.V. Singh, who works for labor welfare, said that the government is working for the welfare of the people. Giri will always be remembered.
