Bommai lauds late actor Puneeth on his birthday

BENGALURU: If fate hadn't played its cruel game, late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar would have been celebrating his 47th birthday on Thursday with fans and friends. His last film, 'James,' was released on this day, and the public and celebrities paid respect to the Kannada film legend.

"Our most beloved Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar's life, public conduct, and assistance to the underprivileged is exemplary and motivating," Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai remarked.

In an interview with the media, Bommai said, "We should never forget his tremendous accomplishments and hard work at such a young age. If he had been living, we would have been celebrating his 47th birthday today. Though we are all in mourning after his death, his life is an example to us." The chief minister wished Puneeth's film 'James,' which premiered on Thursday, every success.

Puneeth's family members will help determine when the 'Karnataka Ratna' award would be presented to him posthumously. According to Bommai, a committee would be formed to organise the prize presenting occasion in a way deserving Puneeth and Dr Rajkumar's honour.

On October 29, 2021, Puneeth Rajkumar died. Dr Rajkumar's youngest son, Late Dr Rajkumar, was a dynamic personality who succeeded on both the large and small screens. He was well-known for his generosity.
