GUWAHATI:   To support the league's goal of developing volleyball talent at the grassroots level in Assam and the North East India Region, RuPay has partnered with the Brahmaputra Volleyball League. The majority of the BVL contests, which would total more than 600 matches, are expected to take place between January and March 2023. The Assamese village volleyball teams will compete in this competition.

The main idea is to use a league structure to develop volleyball culture at the local level. The response has been overwhelming thus far, with a record number of over 393 teams from 144 villages in Assam participating. These village teams are given a format that is identical to a league format with home and away games.

We need long-term visionary support to build volleyball from the ground up, and this will enable us to crowdsource talent with the ultimate goal of streamlining it to training camps,national-levell leagues, and competitions. With this effort, we have influenced over 10,000 athletes and over 1 lakh individuals from 27 Assam districts. The BVL is split into three levels: district, zonal, and super league. The responsibility for hosting the games in their individual communities falls on the locals. The league will find talent in both the boys' and girls' divisions in its third season.
