Breaking News: Helicopter carrying Sri Ravi Shankar makes emergency landing

CHENNAI: A helicopter carrying Art of Living founder Sri Ravi Shankar and 3 others made an emergency landing at the Ukiniyin tribal village in Tamil Nadu's Erode district today, January 25.

Sri Ravi Shankar, the prominent spiritual leader was traveling to Tirupur from Bangalore. The other people in the helicopter were two of his assistants and the pilot.

Sources informed that the helicopter made the emergency landing due to poor weather conditions and the pilot complained of difficulty in navigating.

Kadambur police who reached to the spot on receiving the information said that all the occupants of the chopper were safe. The helicopter took off after 1 hour when the weather situation improved.

Later, the Art of Living foundation, in a statement, mentionedthat Sri Ravi Shankar was on his way to Kumbhabhishekham at Sri Brihannayaki Ambika Sametha Sri Andhra Kapaleeshwarar Swamy Temple in Tiruppur district when the incident took place.
