New Delhi: A shocking murder case involving Aaftab Amin Poonawala and his live-in partner, Shraddha Walkar, has been brought before a Delhi court. According to the victim's father, Vikas Madan Walkar, Poonawala confessed to killing Shraddha and then dismembering her body in their rented home's toilet. He further revealed that Poonawala disposed of the body parts at different locations in Chattarpur Pahadi over a period of time.

During the court proceedings, Vikas Madan Walkar testified as a prosecution witness before Additional Sessions Judge Manisha Khurana Kakkar. He stated that Poonawala had strangled his daughter on May 18, 2022, and subsequently cut her body into pieces for easier disposal.

The accused led the police to the crime scene, pointing out the exact locations of the murder and body disposal. The police found around 13 bones, including the pelvic bone of the deceased, at one of the identified spots near the Shamshan Ghat Mandir on '100 Futa Road' in Chattarpur Enclave.

According to the testimony, Poonawala kept the body parts in trash bags inside a refrigerator in their living room. When his new girlfriend visited, he would temporarily remove the bags and place them on a wooden shelf in the kitchen. The horrifying discovery of many of Shraddha's body parts was made later in a nearby forest.

During the court session, evidence such as the refrigerator, suspected to have held the body parts, and wooden pieces with alleged blood stains, were presented. Vikas Walkar identified the pieces of evidence, and video and audio clips of Poonawala and Shraddha were played in court.

Poonawala's counsel began the cross-examination, which lasted around two hours. Vikas Walkar firmly asserted that the information about the fight between his daughter and Poonawala was based on his own inquiry and confirmation from Shraddha herself, not from his late wife.

The court has scheduled further cross-examination for Monday. The case continues to unravel the horrific details of this tragic incident.
