Guwahati: Border Security Force (BSF) has made a big claim, saying that 3,204 illegal intruders have been apprehended from Indian territory during the last one year. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) claims that there has been no intrusion into India from their side. According to the BSF, criminals are also involved in these illegal intruders.

After the 51st DG Level Dialogue (DLT) in Guwahati with BGB, BSF Director General Rakesh Asthana said that since September this year, security forces have handed over 60 Bangladeshi nationals to their counterparts. The BSF chief told the media that such illegal intruders were handed over to the BGB, who had received information about their nationality and were not involved in any type of criminal background or activity.

He said that where the nationality of the intruders with criminal records could not be ascertained, they were handed over to the state police for further action. Major General MD Shafinul Islam, Director General of BGB, said that there has been no illegal intrusion from Bangladesh into India. He said that Bangladesh's GDP is increasing and it has reached near $ 2,300. So there is no point in crossing the border due to job or any other reason. BSF Chief said that recently 25 fishermen from Bangladesh had come to the Assam border and later their visa expired and the Indian authorities sent them back to Bangladesh.
