'Prepare to be a strong alternative to BJP..,' Mayawati gears up for civic polls

Lucknow: The time for the municipal elections in Uttar Pradesh is near. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former CM Mayawati held a meeting in her office today to prepare for the local body elections. Here Mayawati has instructed party leaders and workers to prepare to contest the civic elections. Mayawati has asked to be a meaningful and strong alternative to the BJP in the civic polls.

Along with this, senior BSP office bearers have been entrusted with the responsibility of elections. Also, instructions have been given to work promptly. Small cadre meetings have been asked to conduct for the party's civic elections. The work of voter revision for the election is going on in the final phase. The State Election Commission has issued a notification regarding voter revision. In which it was told that the voter list revision will start from October 31. After that, the final publication of the voter list will be on November 18.

State Election Commissioner Manoj Kumar has said that the draft voter list will be published on October 31. Claims and objections to them will be disposed of from November 8 to 12. From November 14 to 17, there will be proceedings for the preparation of manuscripts of supplementary lists and subsuming them in the original list. The final publication of the voter list will be done on November 18.
