Budget Session Live: Opposition to take out 'Tricolour March', Last day of Session

NEW DELHI: The Opposition parties will hold a ‘Tricolour’ march from the Parliament house to Vijay Chowk and a joint press meet on the last day of the Budget Session today April 6, as they plan to mount an offensive on the “attack on democracy” by the ruling BJP and Adani affair.

Today, the Parliament's Budget Session is expected to come to an end. The floor leaders of the parties will hold a joint press conference at the Constitution Club after the march.

Parliament was unable to function properly because the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha reassembled after recess for the second half of the Budget session, and even the Finance Bill was approved without any debate.

The American firm Hindenburg's report on the Adani group has caused a rift between the opposition and the government. The former is calling for the creation of a JPC to look into the matter, while the latter has been calling for Congressman Rahul Gandhi to retract his comments from while he was in the UK.

On Wednesday too, the parliament could not function properly.

In a series of tweets on Sunday, Trinamool Congress member Derek O'Brien claimed that BJP MPs were interfering with Parliament and that the Rajya Sabha had only "functioned for an average of 20 minutes daily this Session (excluding time taken to congratulate #Oscar winners)". He also claimed that the Narendra Modi government "wants to run away from discussing scam, price rise, unemployment, and misuse of agencies."
