Raipur: A bus full of trainee police personnel met with an accident at Mainpat in Chhatti Sagarh on Saturday morning. In fact, the bus went out of control and plunged into a 15-foot-deep gorge on the roadside, injuring 12 cops. Out of these, the condition of 4 cops is said to be critical. They have been referred to Ambikapur Medical College. All these cops were on their way to duty at CM Bhupesh Baghel's programme to be held in Mungeli.

According to the information received, the bus carrying 38 trainee cops from the police training school at Manpat was on its way to Mungeli. Meanwhile, the diversion near Amgaon overturned uncontrollably and fell into a roadside ditch. However, it was believed that the bus got stuck in the tree after going down. Passersby noticed the accident and informed the police. The cops were then evacuated and sent to the hospital.

Police say the driver was driving the bus at a very high speed. Due to this, the bus went out of control at the turn and the driver could not handle it. The cops did not suffer much injuries in the accident. On the other hand, bus driver Mungelal says the brakes of the bus had failed. Because of this, he could not control. However, the bus driver is completely safe. He has not been hurt. PTS SP Ravi Kumar said all the cops are fine.
