NEW DELHI: India's star Badminton players, PV Sindhu, continues her impressive performance at the championships. In the pre-quarterfinals of the women's singles on Thursday, Sindhu defeated Beiwen Zhang of the US to book a place in the quarterfinals of the championship. Sindhu, who also advanced to the quarterfinals with an easy 21-14, 21-06 victory in 34 minutes and entered the next round where she will face China's, Tai Yu Ying.

Sindhu has won two medals at the World Championships. With another victory, she will make history by clinching the third medal. HS Prannoy and Kidambi Srikanth, who beat Lin Dan, suffered defeats. B Sai Praneeth defeated world number eight Anthony Sinisuka Guinting on Thursday to enter the quarterfinals of the BWF World Badminton Championships, but his companion Indian HS Prannoy suffered a shock defeat.
