USA: In less than a month, Chinese automaker BYD has received 1,500 bookings for its Atto 3 electric SUV in India. It competes with mid-size EVs on our shores.
To recap, the car was unveiled in October this year, and deliveries are scheduled to begin after it is showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 in January. The four-wheeler features an attractive presence and a spacious tech-forward cabin.
BYD is increasing its market share in India at a time when Chinese companies are under intense scrutiny.

The Atto 3 is the Warren Buffet-backed company's second offering on US soil after the E6 electric MPV that was introduced last year.
The electric SUV has been well received by critics and potential customers alike, garnering over 1,500 bookings since its release.
The hood of the BYD Atto 3 is long, with a sleek chrome grille, LED headlights with L-shaped DRLs and large air vents.
It gets blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs with indicators, roof rails, contrast-coloured C-pillars and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
A shark-fin antenna, a raked windscreen, a window wiper and LED taillights adorn the back end.
The Atto 3 is powered by a 200hp/310Nm electric motor which is connected to a 60.48kWh battery pack. The setup claims a range of 521 km on a single charge. The EV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and comes with three driving modes: Eco, Normal and Sports.

The cabin of the Atto 3 is spacious, with 31-colour ambient lighting, powered front seats, flat-bottom multifunctional steering wheel and panoramic sunroof.
It gets a 5.0-inch digital instrument cluster as well as a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
Passengers are protected by seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, ABS, traction control, crash sensors and EBD.

The BYD Atto 3 electric SUV is available in India in only one trim level, and is priced at Rs. 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are currently available for a nominal fee of Rs. 50,000. The deliveries of the car will start from January next year.
