New Delhi: A clash between supporters and opponents of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) took place in Jaffarabad area of the national capital yesterday, the situation is under control at present. CAA supporters are protesting in Maujpur against the protests in Zafarabad. It is being told that a stone-pelting incident has also taken place between supporters and opponents of CAA. Many people have been injured in this stone-pelting. Police also had to release tear gas shells to control the violence.

After Babarpur, violence also took place in the nearby Nagar of Maujpur. Stone-pelting was also done at around 7 in the evening in the Nagar area. Protesters also took to the streets in the Chandbagh area. A police force has been deployed in the area for security. The entire dispute started at around 11 am on the night of 22 February from the Zafrabad metro station. Where some people protested against the CAA and National Population Register (NPR), blocking the way. The paramilitary force was sent to open the route in Zafarabad, but women opposed it.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Eastern Range) Alok Kumar said that stones were thrown at the police too, the situation is under control at present. Adequate security personnel have been deployed in the area and are carrying out flag marches. BJP leader Kapil Mishra reached Babur metro station with supporters against this protest of Zafrabad. During this, Kapil Mishra said, "Delhi Police should evacuate the paths within three days. We are going peacefully from here till the departure of the trump, but if the roads are not cleared in three days, then we will hit the streets again. After this, we will not listen to the Delhi Police."
