Can solar energy end the problem of electricity...?

Dehradun: Uttarakhand has faced a major power shortage this year, and there is still a shortage of electricity in the state. As many as 18 projects for electricity generation are still being operated in the state, but according to the requirement, the power generation is only half as per the requirement. UJVNL (Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd), is now moving towards solar energy, so can the shortage of electricity going to be overcome in the coming days?

According to the information received so far, the dream of making Uttarakhand an energy state may have been dreamed of for many years, but UJVNL has failed to fulfil this dream. That is why the state is constantly facing the brunt of power shortage, the situation is such that the state has to buy electricity worth crores of rupees from the market. In Uttarakhand, the water streams emanating from the mountains have become the largest source of energy in the state. Due to these, many hydro projects are going on in the state and electricity is generated. But many projects are hanging in the balance from the environmental point of view and only 18 projects are currently being worked out.

In fact, electricity is being produced on the availability of water in the rivers. As many as 18 such projects have been operated in the state, so the power generation in Uttarakhand is only 50 per cent according to the requirement. With this, UJVNL has a big option for solar power and power generation. About 18 projects in the state are being run by UJVNL, but despite this, the power is not being generated relative to the demand. Now UJVNL wants to move ahead in the field of solar energy and is preparing to work on a 150 MW project in the state.
