Canada: Indian student attacked with knife, Foreign Minister expresses concern

India's current foreign minister S.K. Jaishankar has tweeted that after getting information about a serious attack on Rachel Albert, an Indian student in Toronto, Canada, she was shocked. I am asking the officials of the Ministry of External Affairs to help him in getting visas to his family. Jaishankar said in a tweet, family members can contact us immediately on +91 9873983884.

According to media reports, Indian students were attacked with a knife on Thursday in Toronto. Rachel is from Tamil Nadu. The student is admitted in the care unit of Sunnybrook Health Science Center. It has been reported that Rachel Albert, a master's student at York University, was walking near her campus when an unknown assailant beat her, pushed and dragged her.

According to Toronto police, the attack took place near Litch Avenue and Assinbion Road around 10 am on Wednesday. Wounds were found on his body and he was immediately taken to the hospital in the same condition where he is running. Police has sought the public's help to locate the unidentified person. The police has given the outline of the attacker.
