Lucknow: In Hapur, a case of bullying of Samajwadi Party (SP) workers with SDM came to light on 9 March. SDM Sadar Digvijay Singh alleged that SP workers forcibly stopped his government vehicle and searched it. In this case, a case has been registered against 6 named and 30 unknown SP workers at Hapur Dehat police station. At the same time, there has been a stir among the SPs after the registration of the case.

On the complaint of Bhimnagar outpost in-charge Naveen of Hapur Dehat police station, a case has been registered against SP workers under serious sections including Goonda Act, Criminal Act and sections 147, 186, 341, 353. Police has told that FIR has been registered in many serious sections including rioting, thrashing policemen, obstructing government work and searching the SDM's vehicle.

It has been told in the complaint that on March 9, a day before the vote counting, the government vehicles were being searched by the SP workers in Nai Mandi. SP leaders and workers suspected that the administration was manipulating EVMs through their government vehicles. The SPs had also started checking the SDM's government vehicle during this period and threw the documents kept in it. When the police tried to convince them, the SP workers had a scuffle with the police.
