CBI registers chargesheet against retired Odisha High Court judge

NEW DELHI: The CBI has filed a charge sheet against retired Odisha High Court judge IM Kuddusi and six others. They are alleged to have taken bribes for conspiring to settle the case of a medical college in Lucknow. Apart from the former judge, the CBI has filed a charge sheet against Bhavna Pandey, Bhagwan Prasad Yadav, Palash Yadav, Sudhir Giri, Bishwanath Agarwal and Ram Dev Saraswat in connection with the corruption and criminal conspiracy case.

The CBI has alleged that Kuddusi, with the help of other accused, not only legally directed the office bearers of the private medical college but assured them of a decision in their favour. The charge sheet has been filed before Special Judge Anil Kumar Sisodia on the 8th of this month and will be forwarded on the 2nd of August. Prosecutor Vijay Agarwal, who is representing Kuddusi and other accused, said, "There is no government employee in the charge sheet and there will be no corruption case.

My client will get bail on this plea. The CBI raided the residences of retired judge Kuddusi at Bhubaneswar, Lucknow, Delhi and Greater Kailash. The CBI also raided the house of some people. A hawala dealer, through whom one crore rupees was collected and given to The Delhi government employees to settle the matter, also conducted raids. A case has been registered against Kuddusi and others under the Indian Penal Code.
